A NEW STANDARD
Our goal was also to improve the casing of the Quantième collection, by offering solutions to the most recurring problems such as discomfort during setting the time (traditional correctors require a stylus) or the or the dilemma of “polished VS unpolished” when it comes to having an impact on a case band repaired.
STEEL LAYER CONCEPT
To overcome the weaknesses of platinum (easily scratched but tedious to repair), our Quantième collection features our new steel layer concept, which involves applying a thin layer of 904L steel (15% of total mass) to a Pt950 platinum case (85% of total mass) in order to increase its longevity. This layer is composed of six distinct components, all removable and replaceable throughout the life of the piece.
You'll then have the best of both worlds: the peace of mind with steel contact points while enjoying the luster and heft of platinum. Not to mention the absence of the "should I polish my watch or not ?" dilemma during a service.
OFFICER CASE BACK
The officer's case back originates from pocket watches and serves several purposes.
1. It protects the movement from direct impacts (also water and dust back in the day).
2. It preserves the movement's lubrication by protecting it from UV rays.
3. It can be engraved by or for the owner.
From a simple clip-on cover to the most sophisticated designs, there are many ways to construct a hinged case back, and the diagram above describes in detail the one we have chosen: a crown integrated spring-loaded mechanism.
